WEST 72nd ST. CONTROL HOUSE
Sherman Square, Manhattan, NY
REHABILITATION
PACA was part of a large team of professionals headed by Gruzen Samton/Richard Dattner Architects. Our role, as Restoration Architect, was the rehabilitation and restoration of the historic Control House including the salvage and conservation of the mosaic friezes located at the track level. Landmarked in 1973, the station was designed by Heins & LaFarge as part of New York City's original subway system, and completed in 1904. It is one of three remaining station Control Houses.
